About Dr Damien Pearce

Dr Damien Pearce has a Doctor of Education, University of Southern Queensland (USQ), a Master of Educational Leadership, University of Canberra (UC); and from the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) a Graduate Diploma of Tertiary Teaching and Learning and a Vocational Graduate Certificate in Management (Learning). Damien has been recognised as a Fulbright Scholar for Vocational Education and Training (VET) and is an active member of the Australian College of Educators (ACE) and the Australian Vocational Education and Training Research Association (AVETRA).

Damien was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) in August 2013 and before entering the field of education and training, Damien ‘swung spanners’ as a fitter and turner working within military and law enforcement maintenance engineering where he specialised in firearms, munitions and associated specialist equipment. Damien’s previous educational leadership positions have included employment as the Associate Director of the NYSF, Education Director at the Australian Federal Police (AFP) College and a teacher within science and technology at Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT). Damien has extensive international experience in leadership, management, learning needs analysis, curriculum design, teaching and evaluation both within higher education, professional and vocational education and training environments.
