General Manager Communication, Department Of Human Services – Centrelink

Hank Jongen PSM is a General Manager in the Australian Department of Human Services. The Human Services agencies are the ones most Australians deal with all the time: Centrelink, Medicare, Child Support, Hearing Australia and CRS Australia.

Hank has been a Senior Australian Public Service Executive for some twenty years and has been responsible for national strategies supporting key Government reforms and had a major role in the creation of Centrelink, which replaced the Department of Social Security and Commonwealth Employment Service. He is now helping shape the future of Human Services in Australia.

As well as managing a large Division, Hank is also the primary media spokesperson for the teh Department of Human Services, regularly participating in question/answer sessions on talkback radio, as well as radio and television interviews.

Hank is proud of his Australian Public Service Medal awarded for outstanding public service as the then Centrelink’s media spokesperson and leading innovations in communication.

Hank is also a past President of the Major Mail Users of Australia, an associate member of the Australian Marketing Institute, and a member of the International Association of Business Communicators.
