Dr Khaled El-Sheikh

Born August 1964 in Cairo, the eldest brother of 4, DR El-Sheikh studied at Cairo University graduating in 1988.

In 1992, he met and married his Australian born wife, Kylie while they were working together in the Sinai-Red Sea in Egypt. Due to Kylie’s homesickness they chose to move to Australia in May 1995. After 5 weeks of unemployment Dr El-Sheikh had booked his flights home to Cairo when he was offered his first job at the Mersey Community Hospital Latrobe Tasmania also later working in Tom Price WA before moving to Warracknabeal in 1993 tacking over a General Practice.

After arriving home in Australia and having a job Dr El-Sheikh & Kylie began starting a family; having 2 sons first, Saleem in 1996, Tarek in 1999 followed by 2 girls, Annushka in 2000 and Shakira in 2007 all while developing their company and opening clinics around Australia.

Dr El-Sheikh always had a vision that he would help to ease the pressure on rural general practice, but it was not until 2003 that the opportunity presented itself to take on another medical centre in a rural community that was also suffering shortages.  It was at this time that Tristar Medical Group was born.

Expanding rapidly, they moved to Mildura to be more central to all of their clinics in 2007. Since 2007 Tristar Medical Group has won multiple awards from their Innovation in Business & Technology to their Community Input. The company is still growing rapidly today with a current count of 30 clinics and an expected 25+ clinics to be opened by the end of 2012.
