Barry Mather

Chief Technology Officer, Ramsay Health Care

Barry is the Chief Technology Officer for Ramsay Health Care and is responsible for the effective introduction of new technology initiatives which meet business requirements, across all Ramsay hospitals.

Barry takes a strategic approach to the advancement of IT within organisations, concentrating on the people, process, and technology relationships, without neglecting the operational imperative. Over the last few years, Barry has completed many major projects, including data centre relocations; integration of new hospitals and facilities into the Ramsay network; hospital re-developments; insourcing of hospital pharmacy systems; and the design and build of wireless networks and infrastructure. He is currently working on the lean business process reengineering and clinical systems integration.

Barry has more than 18 years experience in IT roles across various industries including in the IT, Healthcare, Electricity Generation, Telecommunications and Finance sectors. Prior to joining Ramsay Health Care, he has enjoyed roles in the UK with PowerGen, Britanic Assurance & Orange Communications.

He also holds a senior rescue position in the State Emergency Services where has volunteered for the last 8 years.
