Australia Goes Broadband – Capturing Opportunities

The AusInnovate Conference is the leading platform in Australia for connecting research, industry and government communities. AusInnovate investigates and identifies what is required to foster innovation and optimise productivity.

AusInnovate is produced by CeBIT Global Conferences in partnership with Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), National ICT Australia (NICTA) Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO).

The NBN provides unprecedented new opportunities for Australians, changing the nature of industry, commerce and services. The AusInnovate Conference 2012 will examine the opportunities made possible through the NBN, backed up by case-studies of examples of organisations that have already established a footing in the market and are taking the lead, and the future that lies ahead.

Conference themes include:
  • Advances and Opportunities for Smart Infrastructure
  • Building a world-class infrastructure for the 21st Century has become a priority in Australia and leveraging the NBN and the latest developments in ICT are an essential part of that process. With the advent of smart grids, cars and cities the need for intelligent infrastructure that can enable progress is critical for Australia to exploit the opportunities available and become a fully connected country. This session will showcase the latest advances being made in infrastructure both internationally and nationally that underpin smart cities and communities. Featured case studies will examine the roadblocks, benefits gained and explore the wider impact of innovation fostered by smart infrastructure.

  • Advances and Opportunities for Smart Services
  • Technology is rapidly revolutionising how Australian organisations are able to do business, communicate and compete internationally. Improved access to health, education and ecommerce is fostered by the development and adoption of the latest innovations in ICT. Supported by the NBN organisations are already transforming their service delivery via creative and pioneering techniques. This session will focus on how existing and emerging technologies are delivering opportunities for ground-breaking advances in service delivery.

  • Advancing the Digital Economy: The Future and Beyond
  • Future innovation and productivity will determine the future health of Australian industries and overall economy. This session will focus on the future direction of infrastructure and services in Australia based on current levels of innovation and appetite for further adoption and exploitation of opportunities.
