Atlassian Code Lab

Ever wanted to learn how to code? Here’s your chance!

CeBIT and Atlassian are proud to present the Atlassian Code Lab, which will run on Tuesday 15th, Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th of May, at CeBIT Australia 2018.

The Atlassian Code Lab will offer one-hour basic coding classes run by Atlassian experts. Attendees will be able to learn the basics of coding via Google’s CS-First curriculum, which uses the block coding language Scratch to conditional statements, loops and events.

Coding classes will be available to all who register for CeBIT before the 1st May. Spots will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis, and registrations will close when all spots are full.

Each class will run for one hour and is aimed at those with little or no prior experience in coding. The classes are not suitable for people who already have coding skills.

Technology is already the biggest industry in the world, and if we want to maintain and grow our slice of that pie we need to increase investment in STEM education at all levels.

Every single company is becoming – or already is – a software company. Which means more and more jobs are becoming technology jobs. We need more graduates with technology skills in almost every discipline, from computer science to medicine, to help us become a leading innovation nation.”
