Dr Mayberry-Stewart: Speaker at the Gov 2.0 Conference

Dr Mayberry-Stewart, a native of Cleveland, Ohio started her career in Information Technology, which has taken her to work as an IT executive in two Fortune 20 companies, the largest healthcare hospital in the Country, and service in the public and private sectors. With a career spanning 30 years, which started as a Systems Engineer for the IBM Corporation, Melodie remains a top IT executive today. In May, 2007, Melodie was named by Governor Eliot Spitzer, to become the first female and black New York State Chief Information Officer and Director of the Office of Technology. As the Governor's top information technology advisor, Melodie, who is a member of the Governor's cabinet, develops, implements and oversees IT investments for IT for the State of New York, a $120 Billion enterprise with over 190,000 employees serving a statewide population of 19 Million. Her positions requires her to work with local and federal government agencies to better leverage technology to deliver state government services to citizens, businesses and visitors to the State.
